The idea for ‘To The Lighthouse’ stems from the brief but invaluable escape that books provide in times of stress. The light atop the lighthouse represents a reading lamp which illuminates the words of the many books in the library below, no matter how dark the surroundings.
Gail has been a self-employed artist for around eight years. Her income is either through private commissions or gallery sales. She paints primarily in acrylics, for the most part on canvas or canvas board, but occasionally on 3 dimensional pieces. Her work is often illustrative and she enjoys creating pieces purely from imagination. She exhibits throughout Scotland and has had work commissioned from as far afield as the USA and Australia.
